ECG & Pharmacology
The American Heart Association ECG & Pharmacology course is designed to improve ECG recognition skills and pharmacology knowledge for treating cardiovascular emergencies. While most providers believe their skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation to be adequate; we aim to improve these skills to allow for early notification and prevention. Increasing knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and a knowledge of ACLS drugs can prevent cardiac arrest.
This course is intended for:
- Respiratory Therapists
- ECG Techs
After completion students will have a better understanding of
- Cardiac anatomy and basic electrophysiology
- Normal ECG Measurements
- Basic Arrhythmias
- Basic ACLS drugs
- Drugs, doses, and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies
ECG takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete; Pharmacology takes about 2.75 hours to complete. When combined, the estimated course length is 6.25 hours.Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a course certificate.
